Monsoon showers, dusty roads, crowded trains and the occasional slip from a pocket are everyday realities for many phone users in India. Delivery partners, field staff, students and commuters need a phone that keeps working no matter what the day throws at it. Choosing a water-resistant 5G phone with an official IP rating is one of the simplest ways to protect your device and the data on it.
This guide explains what IP ratings mean in practice and compares six durable 5G phones rated from IP64 to IP69.
Understanding IP Ratings
An IP (Ingress Protection) rating uses two digits. The first describes protection against dust and solid particles, and the second describes protection against water.
- IP64: dust-tight and protected against splashes from any direction. Good for rain and everyday spills.
- IP65: dust-tight and protected against low-pressure water jets, a step up for heavy rain.
- IP69: the highest level here, designed to resist high-pressure, high-temperature water jets on top of being dust-tight.
For most people, IP64 covers daily life well, while IP65 and IP69 make sense for those who work outdoors. Picking the right dustproof smartphone depends on how tough your routine is.

Which Rating Do You Need?
- Work outdoors in all weather: C85 5G with IP69 Pro.
- Heavy rain and a great screen: NARZO 90x 5G or 16x 5G with IP65.
- Everyday commuting and study: C83 5G, NARZO 100 Lite 5G or P4 Lite 5G with IP64.
Care Tips for a Long-Lasting Phone
- Dry the phone with a soft cloth after it gets wet, and let the ports dry before charging.
- Rinse off sand or mud gently, then dry thoroughly.
- Keep the charging port free of dust with occasional cleaning.
- Use a protective case and screen guard for extra drop protection.
- Remember that water resistance can reduce over time, so treat the rating as protection rather than an invitation to swim.
Why Durability Matters More Than You Think
A cracked screen or water damage often costs far more to fix than people expect, and it can mean days without a phone. Choosing a model with an official IP rating, a large battery and a bright display that stays readable outdoors means fewer repairs, less downtime and a phone that keeps up with a busy, unpredictable routine.
Built for Real Life
A durable 5G phone gives you one less thing to worry about on rainy commutes and dusty work days. The C85 5G leads with IP69 Pro protection, the NARZO 90x 5G and 16x 5G add IP65 toughness, and the C83 5G, NARZO 100 Lite 5G and P4 Lite 5G bring IP64 protection to everyday budgets.
